Authors of Non-fiction

Whether you are writing a business publication, a non-fiction manuscript, an information resource, a museum catalogue, or a memoir, TEC is committed to bringing out the best in your work. Vibrant, groundbreaking, distinguished, award-winning writing: this is what it takes to make your title stand out, and it is the collaborative effort between author and editor that make a great book.

From the outset, we build trust and respect into our working relationship with you. And we keep your work confidential. We apply knowledge, dedication, and care to your work, and our collaborative approach, experience, and confidence make all the difference in the editing of your projects.

Our editing services

We can provide substantive editing in the early stages of your writing project. We provide writing advice to help you reshape your manuscript’s content for flow and clarity, and we make suggestions for strengthening the substance of your work. We do so with great care so as not to disturb your writer’s voice and to respect the meaning of your content.

Once the manuscript is in its final draft, we can provide copy editing and proofreading services. At this stage, we ensure that your grammar, spelling, and punctuation are in good order and that your table of contents lines up with your chapter headings. We want to ensure as polished a final draft as possible.

We also provide copyright and permissions if you are looking to reprint excerpts from already published materials in your work.

Whether you work with us from the very beginning of your project or bring us on board to copy edit your final draft, we provide supportive editorial feedback. If we come on board at the very early stages, the substantive editing process will include one-on-one meetings with your TEC editor. If there is one thing authors need while writing, it is supportive conversation.

Who We Help

Academics

As academic authors, journal and book publishers, you want your final manuscript to be as close to perfection as possible. You want an editor who can competently handle your subject matter, who has an eye for detail and accuracy, and who is an expert at editing references and citations. We are editors you can trust with your work.

Non-Fiction Authors

Whether you are writing a business publication, a non-fiction manuscript, an information resource, a museum catalogue, or a memoir, TEC is committed to bringing out the best in your work. Vibrant, groundbreaking, distinguished, award-winning writing: this is what it takes to make your title stand out, and it is the collaborative effort between author and editor that make a great book.

Business & Association Professionals

In the world of businesses and associations, clients and members are your most important assets. You want to communicate your message to them as clearly as possible. When deadlines are looming, you may not have the luxury to give your writing the attention it needs.

Educational Magazines & Trade Publishers

We know that in-house editors may not have time to handle all the details of preparing book manuscripts for publication or to proofread final PDFs of a magazine. When you decide to contract out, you need to depend on editors who are experienced, accurate, budget-conscious, and meet deadlines.
